Food Sensitivity Resources Founder, Kim Hopkins
Kim's own experience with discovering and adapting to food allergies/sensitivities/intolerance began in 2000.  Since then, she has diligently educated herself about these issues, with a focus on not having to sacrifice favorite foods, activities, or fun because of them.  She has helped numerous people to do the same.  You can read more about Kim's personal experience with food challenges by clicking here.

In 2009, Kim became certified in the Practical Application of Food Allergy Guidelines.   She then decided to combine her professional background as a clinical social worker and personal experiences to broaden her effort to educate others about living well with food issues, and Food Sensitivity Resources was born.

As a Massachusetts licensed social worker, Kim has counseled adults, children, families, couples, and groups in a variety of settings.

She has conducted trainings and developed training curricula on a variety of topics including adolescent development, family systems, civil rights/diversity, assessment & diagnosis, at-risk youth,  and group therapy.

Kim received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1998 with a concentration in psychology. She graduated with University Honors in Major. As a part of her undergraduate work, Kim initiated and was awarded funding for an original research project aimed at investigating the role of family variables in students' adjustment to college.  With the help of fellow students, this research was later published.  You can read the journal article by clicking here

Kim received her Masters degree in Social Work with a certificate in Family Systems from Boston University in 2000.  For almost ten years, Kim worked to develop new programs to help children and families and initiated major organizational changes to better accomplish this goal.  In 2007, Kim received the city of Newburyport's Peace Award for her extensive work with children and families.

In 2009, Kim became a member of the International Association of Coaches (IAC).

........................................................

Currently, Kim is a clinical consultant for the Center of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) in Newton Corner, MA.  Her focus has been to help an entire community in Maine to learn the CPS model in an effort to keep kids from "slipping through the cracks."
